Catherine Popesco, a
native Parisian, discovered a
cache of old stampings used
long ago by jewelry makers in
Paris. Some were over 200
years old and many were
originally designed by Lalique
and Picasso. Her jewelry is
painstakingly rendered from
the original molds and
stampings. The brilliant
Austrian crystals are hand-set
and the pieces are made of
either “old silver” or a 14
karat gold finish over a
copper base. Her artisanal
techniques allow each piece to
best exhibit the delicate
details of these historical
designs.
